Angola National Day Commemorations at Expo 2023 Doha: A showcase of bilateral cooperation in sustainability.
Angola took central stage at Expo 2023 Doha, at its commemorated its national day on Expo grounds in the presence of the Angolese Environmental Minister, Her Excellency Paula Coelho, The Angolan Ambassador to Qatar, His Excellency Antonio Coelho Ramos da Cruz, and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change in Qatar, His Excellency Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and a host of Expo 2023 Doha representatives.
Commemorations kicked off in the close vicinity of the Expo house with a speech from Expo 2023 Doha secretary general Mr. Mohamed Ali Al Khoori who greeted attendees in his opening remarks and highlighted the convergence of strategic goals between Angola and the State of Qatar. The speech highlighted undertakings led by both nations in tackling common strategic objectives such as food security, the fight against climate change and the development of private-public sector led initiatives in sustainability.
In a cultural showpiece, a traditional Angolese dancing performance took place on the back of the introductory speech. Attendees were treated to a unique display of traditional garments and time-honoured dancing rituals that put forth the rich tapestry of cultures that distinguish Angola.
The commemoration is yet another testament of the vibrant bilateral relationship between the two nations which grew by leaps and bounds since its establishment in 2016.
