The People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Inaugurates its Pavilion at Expo 2023 Doha
In a momentous event, Expo 2023 Doha officials and representatives from the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria in Qatar converged to al Bidda park to officiate the opening of the well awaited Algerian pavilion. Accompanied by His Excellency Bader bin Omar Al Dafa, Expo 2023 commissioner general and Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Khouri, secretary-general of Expo 2023, His Excellency Salah Attia, Ambassador of Algeria in Qatar partook in a symbolic ribbon cutting ceremony to immortalize the occasion and leave an indelible mark in the bilateral relationship between the two brotherly countries.
In a speech delivered by the Algerian envoy, he congratulated Qatar on hosting the 2023 Horticultural Exposition, commending the success achieved under the leadership of Ambassador Bader bin Omar Al Dafa. He then proceeded by lauding the pavilion as a showcase of Algeria’s diverse tourist attractions, including picturesque landscapes, and the natural beauty of its deserts and mountainous areas.
Taking place in a traditional Algerian tent, attendees were treated to a comprehensive tour of the pavilion, offering a glimpse into Algeria’s historical traditional craft, exquisite hospitality rituals, and local delicacies. The opening was also a stark reminder of Algeria’s steadfast commitment to sustainable development and its unrelenting resolve to combat desertification which sits at the heart of Expo’s theme, ‘Green Desert, Better Environment’.
