National Day of the Republic of Malawi at Expo 2023 Doha
Malawi national day commemorations took place on February 7th, 2024, across the Expo house on the International Stage of Expo 2023 Doha. Present at he celebration was His Excellency Samuel Dalitso Kawale, Minister of Agriculture in Malawi, His Excellency Sosten Alfred Gwengwe the Minister of Trade and Industry, Her Excellency Monica Chang'anamuno the Minster of Mining, and Her Excellency Vera Kamtukule the Minister of Tourism who were graciously welcomed in Expo House by the Minister of Municipality in Qatar, His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya, the Secretary General of Expo 2023 Doha, His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al-Khoori, and the Commissioner General His Excellency Bader Omar Al Dafa.
The commemorations commenced with delegate speeches from both countries, praising Qatar’s efforts in hosting the International Horticultural Exhibition and highlighting the long-standing relationship between the two nations. The gathering at the international stage was followed by a comprehensive tour of the Qatar and Malawi pavilions.
The Malawi Pavilion at Expo 2023 Doha showcases the nation's plan for a sustainable future, encapsulating their commitment to environmental awareness and preservation. Through interactive exhibits and immersive displays, Malawi underscored its strategies for promoting renewable energy and biodiversity conservation. Visitors engaged with innovative initiatives aimed at mitigating climate change impacts and fostering resilient ecosystems – hence, the pavilion serves as a platform for education, dialogue, and collaboration.
