The International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha officially commenced at the stunning Al Bidda Park on 2nd October 2023. In a grand celebration of global unity and sustainable development, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani graced the inauguration ceremony alongside world leaders and diplomats from across the globe under the theme ‘Green Desert, Better Environment’.
The event opened with an inspiring speech by Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, who welcomed attendees to Al Bidda Park.
Expressing gratitude to all participating countries and friends, Sheikh Mohammed extended hope that Expo 2023 Doha would foster partnerships and projects that benefit future generations.
The ceremony also featured speeches from Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary-General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), and Leonardo Capitano, President of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH).
In attendance were His Highness's Personal Representative, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Sheikhs, Ministers, representatives of sisterly and friendly countries, members of the diplomatic corps, prominent businesspeople, and esteemed guests of the Expo.
Expo 2023 Doha marks a pivotal moment in Qatar's dedication to a greener, more sustainable future and paves the way for global collaboration toward a safer world for future generations.
