Harvest Haven: Expo 2023 Doha Farmers' Market Grand Opening Showcases Local Bounty and Sustainability.

In a vibrant celebration of sustainability and community, Expo 2023 Doha proudly unveiled the awaited Farmers' Market. The grand opening of this agricultural haven was met with excitement, as visitors gathered to witness the richness of Qatari produce and sustainable agriculture.  

Farmers and visitors alike were welcomed by freshly harvested fruits and vegetables from local Qatari farms. The Farmers' Market serves as a testament to Qatar’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices, innovation in agriculture, boosting Qatari farmers’ business, and boosting Qatar’s agricultural sector. 

Mr. Yousef Al-Khulaifi, director at the Agricultural Affairs Department, stated that this Farmers' Market is a demonstration of the Ministry’s effort to support our local farmers by presenting them locations where they can sell their products to the public. 

The farmer’s market at Expo 2023 Doha is no mere marketplace, rather, it serves as a stage where local famers can showcase their calibre and progress of their produce. This offers the participants a chance to present their goods to a broader audience, emphasizing Qatar’s advancement in the agricultural sector.  

The heart of the market showcased an impressive array of locally produced fruits and vegetables, carefully cultivated using sustainable agricultural practices. From tomatoes and crisp lettuce to mouth-watering dates, the market offered a diverse palette of flavours, each item telling a story of the rich agricultural landscape of Qatar and the potential it carries. Visitors can acquire fresh, locally sourced produced at affordable priced, creating a mutually beneficial scenario. 

The Farmers' Market is open for visitors three days a week, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, until March 28, 2024.
