“Expo Stars League” Qatar Stars League and Expo 2023 Doha Partnership Agreement

On Monday, 14 August 2023, the Organising Committee of Expo 2023 Doha entered into an agreement with the Qatar Stars League (QSL) to promote the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the importance of sports in the community. This agreement was signed during the launch of the new football season, highlighting the commitment of both parties toward this shared vision.

Per the agreement, the name of the Qatari football league will be changed to "Expo Stars League" for the upcoming 2023-2024 football season. This partnership aims to foster collaboration with various entities in line with Qatar's national goals, focusing on leveraging the sport of football to spotlight the Expo project.

The CEO of QSL, Mr Hani Taleb Ballan, has expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement to promote the global event through sports. Likewise, Mr Mohamed Ali Al Khouri, the Secretary-General of Expo 2023 Doha, highlighted the importance of this partnership, citing the widespread popularity and positive impact of sports, especially football.

Expo 2023 Doha is an international horticulture exhibition that has set its sights on combating the desertification and finds solutions to address pressing environmental challenges and championing sustainability. The event is scheduled to run from October 2023 until March 2024.
