Expo 2023 Doha celebrates the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and hosts engaging activities at FIFA Fan Festival
Joining the month-long football celebrations, Expo 2023 Doha inaugurates its Green Fan Zone in the Al Bidda Park Fan Zone and invites visitors to discover the Expo’s green spirit
As the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 kicks off with the first match and the opening ceremony, Expo 2023 Doha opens the doors to the green fan zone where all fans can learn about Qatar’s plans for 2023 and explore the world of horticulture, agriculture, and sustainability.
Driving curiosity around Expo 2023 Doha, Qatar’s key event after the World Cup, the Green Fan Zone invites all visitors to get involved in fun and engaging edutainment activities, encouraging sustainable behaviours and interest towards the Expo key themes, including agriculture, horticulture, green technology, and others.
Green-minded fans will have a chance to cycle and see how much they save on carbon emissions on a dedicated high-tech cycling equipment; learn about recycling, sorting, and upcycling through arts and crafts, and register their sustainability-related messages that will be kept for the next year’s Expo.
The Expo’s corner in the Fan Zone – including the Dome-shaped Farmer’s House as well as all the infrastructure, are created with recyclable materials, reflecting the Expo’s sustainable spirit and its mission to raise awareness around environmentally friendly behaviours and practices.
“We are excited to launch our space at FIFA Fan Zone in Al Bidda Park, which will be the Expo 2023 Doha dedicated venue, and invite World Cup’s local, regional, and international visitors to take part in our fun edutainment activities. Expo 2023 Doha Green Fan Zone will be open to all fans visiting Al Bidda Fan Zone during the Fan Zone opening hours until the last day of the World Cup on December 18th, 2022.
