Gambia possesses abundant natural resources, including fresh water from the River Gambia creating the potential for irrigated agriculture. As a key player in the Gambian economy, agriculture offered significant investment opportunities, hence, inducing the government to provide support and incentives for investors interested in contributing to the sector's development.
