Expo 2023 Doha has taken a stride towards nurturing the creativity and imagination of young minds with the launch of the "Children’s Book Designer" initiative. The program, which commenced on Saturday 25th November at the International Zone of Expo 2023 Doha, aims to showcase the literary talents of budding Qatari writers, fostering a love for reading and instilling essential values rooted in Arab and Islamic culture as well as Qatari identity.
The heart of the initiative lies in an enchanting book exhibition featuring works by young Qatari writers. This exhibition serves not only as a celebration of youthful literary prowess but also as a platform to introduce these emerging writers to the public while reinforcing cultural values.
Open to the public from 4 pm to 8 pm until December 2 at the Qatari pavilion, the book exhibition is a testament to Expo 2023 Doha's commitment to encouraging social responsibility. Lolwa al-Mohannadi, the Director of Programs Management at Expo 2023 Doha, highlighted the event's significance during her opening remarks: "Expo 2023 Doha is the most prominent event in the country. Therefore, we were keen from the beginning to direct our efforts towards programs that support social responsibility, and the children’s involvement with us is a major priority in our various programs," she expressed.
Al-Mohannadi emphasized the diverse range of activities tailored for children at Expo 2023 Doha, including workshops, educational presentations, agricultural and recycling activities, as well as entertainment programs and performances. These activities are designed not only to engage children but also to instill a sense of environmental consciousness and sustainability.
